Fisher Lake Association Newsletter
June
2007
Annual Meeting Information
This year’s
Annual Meeting will take place on Saturday, July 7, 2007, at 8:00 a.m.
at the Fisher Lake Inn. Please come and bring your concerns and/or
compliments. Issues to be discussed at the meeting include:
1.
Sewer Update:
MSU Professor Ted Louden will explain a “cluster sewer system” which was recently presented at a Corey Lake Association meeting.
2.
Election of all Officers and three Area Directors:
The
following people have agreed to serve in their positions again;
however, several have served for many years and would be willing to
allow others to have the opportunity to fill their slots. We would welcome any interest from FLA members who would like to become more involved by becoming officers or directors.
Nominations will be welcome from the floor at the meeting.
The current slate is as follows:
President:
Eric Shafer
Vice-president:
Jim Souers
Secretary:
Sally Boeschentein
Treasurer:
Lari Roberts
Area 2:
Dave Langley
Area 7:
Patty McClain
Area 8:
Nancy Martin
3.
Fisher Lake flags will be available for sale.
4.
Results of 2006 water quality tests will be presented.
5.
The newest edition of the Fishers Lake Magazine will be distributed to all current paid members.
6.
Payment of 2007-08 dues will be accepted.
February Newsletter Apology
We understand that some copies of our February newsletter arrived in your mail in very poor condition.
Some people described them as “in shreds.”
We
suspect that this may be because we have been trying to be economical
and simply fold and staple the sheets, rather than put them into
envelopes. We have been doing that same thing for at least twenty years, but apparently it’s not working very well anymore.
This
newsletter will be sent electronically to those whose email addresses
we have on file, and the others will be placed into envelopes. If you are one of those who either didn’t receive a February newsletter, or one who received it in poor condition, we are sorry.
Please contact Sally Boeschenstein if that happens again, and she will try to get one to you –intact!
Recycling Site
Some residents may wonder about how to recycle items, now that the old site in Three Rivers is no longer available.
Fabius Township is renting a dumpster from Waste Management out on Roberts Road, south of Broadway.
This site is manned and can be accessed at no cost on Saturday mornings from 7 a.m. to 12 noon.
At all other times the gates are locked, and it cannot be used.
Fisher Lake Flags
The
Fisher Lake flags are small, white burgees, with a design which
features the blue heron and the slogan, “Will you look at that lake!” A few are still available at $35 each, and look nice on a boat or a pole.
These can be purchased from Lari Roberts (273-9221) or at the Annual Meeting.
They make nice gifts for those who LOVE Fisher Lake!
